ALDAC 230A Introduction to Family Systems: Intervention and Prevention
Examines techniques for early and long-term treatment of chemical dependency with focus on counseling families, couples, and significant others. Students learn the "developmental model for recovery" and intervention and prevention techniques within family systems of culturally diverse, chemically dependent populations. Suggested Prerequisite: ALDAC 101, 105 & 106 or permission of director. 3 credits

ALDAC 298A Clinical Supervision in Addiction Treatment
Meets requirements of WAC 246-811-049(2)b:Twenty-eight clock hours of recognized supervisory training may be substituted for one thousand hours of clinical experience (criteria for qualified CDP supervisor not CDP certification)
This workshop is designed to assist participants with the understanding and skills necessary for effective clinical supervision of chemical dependency professionals and trainees. Students will learn how to use clinical supervision to improve basic client care. In addition, participants will examine the role of the clinical supervisor in the overall management of treatment programs. 2 credits or 30 clock hours

ALDAC 204WBL Adolescent Addiction: Assessment and Treatment
If a student is not working in an adolescent chemical dependency treatment program with supervision by an approved CDP supervisor, the student is required to commit to 100 hours of volunteering in an Adolesecent Chemical Dependency Treatment Program and be supervised by an approved CDP supervisor.
Reviews signs, symptoms, and patterns of drug use and abuse among adolescents. Students learn effective and appropriate screening and evaluation methods. Suggested Prerequisite: ALDAC 108 or director permission.2 Credits
