BASIC SKILLS LAB

The purpose of this unique lab is to support students who are enrolled in the basic skills programs by focusing directly on individual needs and allowing for purposeful self-expression. We are able to achieve this in a safe, comfortable learning environment by using computers, audio cassette players and volunteer tutors working one-on-one with students providing:

• Individualized, self-paced opportunity to practice listening comprehension, reading skills, developing vocabulary, spelling and grammar
• Opportunities to interact with native speaking tutors
• Opportunities for remediation with classroom skills
• An extension of student learning time
