Volunteer Tutor Program

<BODY> <P><B><FONT SIZE=5> <P>Welcome to the Volunteer Literacy Program at Bellevue Community College </FONT></B></P> <P>The <B>Volunteer Literacy Program</B> is looking for dependable individuals to join our team in providing support and encouragement to students in the <b>Adult Basic Education</b> program.</p> <P>The <b>ABE</b> program provides free classes to help adult learners of all ages improve their reading, writing, and math skills, and offers GED preparation courses at no cost to Washington residents 19 years or older.</P> <P>In addition, the program also offers free <b>English as a Second Language</b> classes for immigrants and refugees. Volunteers work in a variety of ways in support of the <b>Adult Basic Education</b> program.</P> <P>By becoming a volunteer you have an opportunity to play an important role in the lives of these students. By giving of your time and offering encouragement and reinforcement, you can help these students succeed in achieving their personal and professional goals.</P> <P>Volunteers are asked to commit to 2-4 hours per week for a minimum of six months.
