WOMEN’S SOCCER SPLITS DURING THE WEEK!

The women’s soccer team lives up to its #8 NWAACC ranking this week by winning 3-1 at Olympic College (4-6-1) on October 1, and tying 1-1 at Shoreline CC (10-0-1) October 4.

On October 1 at Olympic College, the Bulldogs took an early lead with a goal by Krista Niklason in the 14th minute of the game. Molline Boddy added a goal for the Bulldogs in the 50th minute and Daniela Gonzalez capped off the Bulldogs’ scoring by putting one in the net in the 71st minute. The Rangers only goal came in the 87th minute of the game.

The matchup against the undefeated Dolphins of Shoreline CC went as it was built up to be: a battle of two first place division leaders slugging it out. The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead with a goal by Krista Niklason in the 7th minute and held on to that lead up until the 80th minute when Shoreline CC was able to tie the game, and that’s how the battle of the first place teams ended.

This week the Bulldogs host the Tacoma Titans (5-3-3) on October 8 at 2:00pm on the BCC soccer field, and October 11 they travel to Mt. Vernon to take on Skagit Valley (4-4-3) at 12:00pm.

VOLLEYBALL SET FOR FIRST PLACE CLASH!
The match-up is set for October 8 at the BCC gymnasium, 7:00pm as the Bulldogs host arch rival Edmonds CC (3-0) in a match that will determine who will take sole possession of first place in the North Division.

The Bulldogs (3-0) made quick work of both of their opponents last week sweeping both Skagit Valley (25-13, 25-13, 25-16) and Shoreline (25-12, 25-18, 25-22). With the sweep of both matches last week the Bulldogs have not dropped a single game in their three matches going 9-0.

Cheer on the Bulldogs as they host Edmonds Tritons, October 8 at 7:00pm in the BCC Gymnasium.

MEN’S SOCCER CLAIM TWO MORE VICTORIES!

The Bulldogs wasted no time claiming two victories last week to remain undefeated and in a first place tie for the West Division lead at (8-0-2) with Highline CC (8-0-2).

On October 1 the Bulldogs went to Bremerton to claim a convincing 9-1 win over Olympic College (0-9-1) behind the three goals of Vini Oliveira. Six other Bulldogs scored to cap off the win. The game against Shoreline CC (3-4-3) on October 4 saw the Bulldogs claim their third shutout of the season 5-0 behind the goalkeeping of Kevin Springer. Five different scorers contributed to the five goals to help the balanced offensive attack spread out.

This week the Bulldogs host the Tacoma Titans (4-4-2) on October 8 at 4:00pm on the BCC soccer field, and October 11 they travel to Mt Vernon to take on Skagit Valley (1-8-1) at 2:00pm.

CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES IN EMERALD CITY INVITE!
The Bulldogs competed this past weekend on October 4 at Lower Woodland Park in Seattle hosted by Seattle University. The women's team was led by Margaux Barlag-Welling in a time of 25:50 and the men's team by Abdi Giire with a 10th place finish in 28:06. Full results for both teams can be found on the Seattle U website: goseattleu.com.

The men’s and women’s cross country teams will be hosting their Annual BCC Invitational on October 18 at Lake Sammamish State Park and are always looking for people in the BCC community to help as volunteers to assure we put on an outstanding event for everyone participating. If interested in volunteering please contact our Cross Country Coach Karly Wade at kwade@bellevuecollege.edu.
