MEN’S BASKETBALL WINS ANOTHER TOURNAMENT

The BCC men’s basketball team followed up last weekend’s tournament win with another tournament 1st place finish at the Pierce College Thanksgiving Tournament Nov. 28-30. The Bulldogs (6-0) won all three games of the tournament to extend their early season winning streak to six games. Victories over the weekend came against South Puget Sound (100-67), Shoreline (74-52) and Whatcom (80-73).

The Bulldogs were led all weekend by a another balanced scoring attack. Sophomore Sam Cartmell was selected to the All-Tournament Team, and sophomore Rahiti Marere was designated the Tournament’s Most Valuable Player.

The Bulldogs go on the road this weekend to take on the Grays Harbor Chokers Saturday, Dec. 6, at 4:00pm in Aberdeen.

MEN’S BASKETBALL OPENS SEASON WINNING THE BULLDOG CLASSIC

The BCC men’s basketball team kicked off their season with a bang winning the 1st Annual Bulldog Classic. The Bulldogs (3-0) opened the tournament with a solid win over Portland CC 81-61, and then really got things rolling in their semifinal game against Wenatchee Valley winning 99-60. The Championship game on Sunday matched the Bulldogs against last year’s NWAACC Champions, the Yakima Valley Yaks. Once again the Bulldog defense proved to be too much as BCC won the championship game 77-61.

The Bulldogs were led all weekend by a balanced scoring attack. Sophomore Rahiti Marere was selected to the All-Tournament Team, and sophomore Sam Cartmell was designated the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.

The Bulldogs go on the road this weekend to participate in the Pierce College Men’s Basketball Thanksgiving Invitational Tournament, opening against the South Puget Sound Clippers on Friday, November 28th, at 2:00pm.

Admission to all men’s and women’s basketball games is FREE to students, staff and faculty all year long. Please come support our outstanding student-athletes.

MEN’S BASKETBALL OPENS SEASON HOSTING AN EIGHT TEAM TOURNAMENT

The men’s basketball team will open up the 2008-09 season hosting an eight-team tournament (Bulldog Classic) November 21-23 in the BCC gymnasium. The tournament field will include the 2008 NWAACC Champions, Yakima Valley Yaks, along with Everett Trojans, Highline Thunderbirds, Mt Hood Saints, Portland Panthers, South Puget Sound Clippers and Wenatchee Valley Knights.

The Bulldogs first tournament game will be Friday at 7:00pm against the Portland Panthers.

MEN’S & WOMEN’S BASKETBALL HOSTED JAMBOREES!  
November 11, 2008

Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams hosted a great day of basketball on November 8th for their annual jamborees. The women’s field included eight games and the men’s field included 11 teams from all over the NWAACC.

MEN’S & WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TO HOST JAMBOREES!

Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams will be hosting Jamborees Saturday, November 8. The women’s jamboree will tip off at 10:00am and the men’s competition will tip off at 3:00pm

MEN’S & WOMEN’S BASKETBALL START OFFICIAL PRACTICE!

Bulldog basketball officially
started October 20 with both the men’s and women’s team looking to build on the strong finishes they both had last year at the NWAACC Tournament.

PAST SEASONS: 2007-08; 2006-07; 2005-06; 2004-05; 2003-04

BCC basketball has a rich tradition in northwest college hoops. A perennial playoff contender, BCC finished the 2006-07 just short of the NWAACC title, falling 67-56 in the NWAACC Tournament Championship Game to Clackamas Community College. Bellevue compiled the second best record in the storied history of the Men's Basketball program at 28-4, and won their third consecutive Regional Championship. BCC competes in the North Region of the Northwest Athletics Association of Community Colleges along with Edmonds, Everett, Olympic, Peninsula, Seattle, Shoreline, Skagit, and Whatcom Community Colleges. The season begins in mid-October and finishes at the 16-team NWAACC Championships in early March.
