an integral part of Bellevue Community College's athletic program.
Serving as the athletic trainer for all of BCC's teams, Spencer plays
a key role in the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation
of injuries. Spencer is well known within his coaching peers in the
department as an effective communicator, rehabilitation motivator,
and a committed member of each and every team. The Bulldogs are fortunate
to have a trainer with both the experience and longevity within an
institution. He has over 17 years of practical experience which
he brings to both the game and practice settings at BCC.
Born and raised in the Seattle area, Spencer graduated from Mercer Island HS in '84 before going on to
Central Washington University. He received a B.S. degree in sports
medicine and adaptive physical education from C.W.U. in '90.

training background in 1988 as the athletic trainer for the Peoria
Brewers of the Arizona Fall League in the inaugural season. He then
became part of the sports medicine team of the Cincinnati Reds organization
for the next eleven seasons, working for minor league teams such

To spend more time at home during the summer months, Spencer retired
from working in the professional baseball ranks following the '99
season.
Besides working with professional athletes, Spencer has been employed in various clinics in the Seattle area.
He was a trainer at Physiotherapy Associates from '94-98 and Health
South from '99-2004. Spencer is now employed at Bellevue Sports
and Spine Physical Therapy. He is a certified Physical Therapist
Assistant, Athletic Trainer, and Director of Sports Enhancement
Training.

spare time, Spencer enjoys coaching his daughters' sports teams,
collecting sports memorabilia, and bike riding.
