In the 1920s, this is the view you would have as you left the ferry. The real estate offices of Burke and Farrar are to the left. The buildings on the right are still standing today. In the 1930s, a large KIRKLAND sign was mounted on the roof of the building in the center.

As an aside, check out that dinky little car near the right center of the photograph. What's up with that?
