GED Testing

If you wish to take the general equivalency (GED) test at BCC, the Assessment Office offers GED testing approximately four times a month on Thursdays—twice in the daytime and twice in the evening. You must be at least 16 years old to take the GED.

Special Announcement: The new 2012 Series of the GED Tests will be released on January 1, 2012. View more information about the new 2012 GED tests.

Prior to taking the test, read the following information:

  1. How GED testing works

  2. Test preparation

  3. GED transcripts

How GED testing works:

  1. Attend a registration/orientation session.
This is required. This session is held most Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. in room B132 (call 425-564-2243 for specific dates and times). The session will take about an hour. No late arrivals will be admitted.

  2. Bring necessary documentation with you.
    You will need:

    • An official government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license, state ID card, or passport.

    • Examination fee of $75 (must be paid for entrance to the orientation).

    • Your social security number.

    • An address in the state of Washington.

  3. If you are between the ages of 16-18, please bring additional documentation to the orientation session:

    • You must bring an under-age release form signed by your school official at either the last high school you attended or the school district in which you currently reside. You can obtain this form only from your high school counselor or administrator, or school district office.

    • If you have been home schooled and are 16-18 years old you must have a parent sign and have notarized the necessary underage release form. This form is available from our GED examiner. Call 425-564-5609 or 425-564-2243, or email assessment@bellevuecollege.edu.

  4. At the time of the test

You must provide an official government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license, state ID card, or passport. Testing is usually every Thursday (except holidays). You will receive a testing schedule when you attend orientation.
