STEPS TO ENROLL IN RUNNING START

 

Fall Quarter 2008

STEP 1

NOT MANDATORY

Attend one of the Running Start Information Sessions. Parents are encouraged to attend with their student and no prior registration is required:

  • Dates offered:  Sat, March 1 at 9:30am OR 11:30am, Thurs, March 13 at 7:00pm and Sat., March 15 at 9:30am OR 11:30am.  These sessions will be held in N-201 on the south end of campus- Park in adjacent lot.  There will be sessions held Thurs, March 20 and Fri, March 21 at 7:00pm in the Theater, building E located on south end of campus.   

STEP 2

An application must be on file with our office for you to take the required assessment.  Submit the Running Start Application to our office in B233 by the following date:
*Note: We do not recommend mailing application.  Application must be received by date listed below. Your BCC ID# number will be emailed to you once your application has been processed. 

  • Priority Deadline*: submit by Monday, March 24, 2008

*students applying on this date will get first choice of classes and receive Running Start information at their assessment session. 

  • Late Deadline*: all applications must be received by Friday, July 11, 2008.

*students applying late will register late and have the risk of classes being full.  
     


STEP 3

Register for a Running Start assessment test using online web registration. Seats are limited so do not delay! Registration directions and assessment dates and are on the reverse of this sheet.  

  • Priority Applicants: To assess for Fall Quarter, register online: April 1-3, 2008.
  • Late Applicants:  You must skip this step, and register directly with the assessment office beginning June 9th.

STEP 4
  • Take Assessment Test on your selected date and time in Room B132
  • Mark the time and date on the calendar. You will not get a reminder.
  • Bring picture ID to your assessment session.  You will not be allowed to test without it.
  • Pay assessment test fee of $18.75 (subject to change) at the Cashier’s office in B-125.
  • Bring receipt of payment to the Assessment Office in B-132. You will be unable to test without it.  
  • Bring your assigned Student ID Number.
  • DO NOT come late or you will forfeit your seat.  Arrive at least 15 minutes early to B132 for your assessment session

STEP 5
  • IF YOU ASSESSED INTO ENGLISH 101 submit the Running Start Agreement Form (this form is given to you after your assessment).  You may also go to our website to print one or come by our office to pick one up.  
  • Attach your assessment results to this form and submit to the Running Start Office (not your high school) by:
  • Priority Applicants:  Monday, May 5, 2008
  • Late Applicants:       Monday, July 28, 2008

Please Note:  Mailing goes out to eligible priority and late applicants approximately two weeks following the above Agreement Form deadline. It will include an orientation date and time, the High School Referral Form, and Fall Credit Class Schedule.  Orientation and registration will occur in June for priority students and the second week of September for late students.


STEP 6

Make an appointment with your high school counselor to obtain a list of graduation requirements, plan your class schedule and have the High School Referral Form signed by them.
   *Late applicants must wait for their high school counselor to return from summer vacation to complete this step.

STEP 7

Attend Pre-Registration Orientation on assigned date and time as stated in the letter we send you.
Bring with you:

  • Signed and completed High School Referral Form AND Fall Credit Class Schedule.
  • *Late applicants will attend their Pre-Registration Orientation the second week of September.

Registering for a Running Start Assessment

1.   Log on to www.bellevuecollege.edu between 8:00am – 10:00pm on the following days:

  • Fall Quarter 2008: between April 1-3

2.   Click on "Registration" (right side of page) – Click on "Log In" - Enter your information:

  • Key in your assigned BCC Student ID number
  • Key in your 6 digit PIN (This is usually assigned as your birth date. Use zero in front of one digit numbers. Example: if your birth date is June 6, 1987 your PIN is 060687). You may change your PIN at any time.
  • Select the academic quarter “Fall 2008”
  • Click on “Register”
  • Click on “Next” at the top of screen to continue     
  • Choose your assessment session:
  • NOTE: This is the same process as registering for classes.
    • The boxes below lists the item numbers for the different assessment sessions.
  •       SELECT ONLY ONE for the quarter you are applying for.
    • On the Schedule screen, enter the item number of the Running Start assessment session under “Add/Drop”
    • Click on Submit; your assessment selection will appear in the Schedule box
    • Click on Next
    • Click on Finish

    Print out a copy of your scheduled assessment session:
