BCC BREAKS ANOTHER RECORD

ISP is proud to announce that once again we have broken our quarterly record for the number of international students enrolled at BCC!  We currently have 795 students enrolled from approximately 60 countries, which is an increase of almost 18% compared to Winter Quarter 2007. We would like to thank all of you who work hard everyday to make BCC a great place to study.

JALISCO  DELEGATION

International Student Programs and the English Language Institute welcomed a delegation from the Ministry of Education in Jalisco, Mexico to campus on November 29th.  For the past few years, some of our English Language Insitute teachers have traveled to Jalisco to administer teacher training to local English teachers in that region.   Members of the educational leadership delegation came to Washington state to renew the exchange agreement we have had since 1996. Dr. Peter Maphumulo, along with select ISP staff members, accompanied the group to Olympia on Friday, November 30th for a formal signing of the agreement with Governor Gregoire.  It was an honor to host this group.

ISP wants to extend a heartfelt welcome to Yeonhee Kang.  Yeonhee has traveled from South Korea to pursue a Bachelors degree in Radiology at BCC.  Prior to arriving in the United States, Yeonhee studied at KNOU University and Shingu College (a BCC sister school) in Korea and graduated with a degree in Art Media and Science.  She hopes to finish her degree at BCC in two years and is excited about the opportunities the lie before her.  Welcome Yeonhee!
