                                 EXEMPT, FULL TIME POSITION

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Program Manager reports to the Director of World Languages & Travel and has primary responsibility for the day-to-day operations of approximately 100-150 courses/quarter and certificate programs. In addition, the Program Manager recruits and hires new faculty and monitors program quality. This person is also responsible for monitoring program budgets. This is a great opportunity for someone with exceptional communication skills, multi-tasking abilities, and strong computer skills.

 

The Program Manager has a wide scope of complex duties and responsibilities and exercises independent judgment with delegated decision-making authority. Please address how you meet the following minimum and desirable qualifications in your cover letter.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One year of experience managing educational programs in a higher education setting
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook
  • Experience in maintaining budgets
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand new subject matter areas

 

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in @campus and HP systems
  • Two years of experience managing Continuing Education programs
  • Advanced degree or certificate in adult education, organizational development, curriculum development, business administration, information systems, or other field related to the position
  • Experience supervising, training, and directing support staff
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to students, staff and faculty of varied ethnicity, ages, backgrounds and abilities and a commitment to a culturally diverse environment

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage Graphic Design Certificate Program, and general Art-Zones and Personal Enrichment classes.
  • Manage all operations for classes in assigned programs:
    • New faculty hires and orientations
    • Build and schedule classes in Campus CE
    • Monitor and address class staffing needs
    • Ensure accurate information in quarterly schedule and website
    • Communicate course information to faculty (course descriptions, scheduling, enrollments) through quarterly teaching agreements and regular e-mails
    • Ensure class equipment, rosters and materials are available
    • Communicate regularly with technical support staff to ensure compatibility of classes with software and hardware requirements
  • Monitor quality of programs and classes through surveys, participant interviews, review of course evaluations, and class observations, and report concerns to Director.
  • Oversee collection of data on new certificate program participants and tracking of data on alumni
  • Support the development and implementation of instructor procedures manual and instructor training sessions when required
  • Support and manage budgets for assigned programs
    • Review course cancellation reports and make recommendations to director
    • Review pricing of courses to ensure profitability and consistency
  • Participate in personnel decisions involving the staff, student and part-time employees and recommend hiring, dismissals, disciplinary action and position allocations
    • Supervise and delegate work to part-time hourly staff.
  • Communicate with faculty and participants about capstone projects
  • Assist in promoting and marketing programs
  • Provide information and advice to students, staff, other program directors and/or the public regarding policies and activities; recommend courses of action
  • Provide operational support to personal enrichment classes

 

 

SALARY

The salary range is $45,222 - $54,267 annually with placement based on education and related experience.
