Action Bioscience '"is a non-commercial, ad-free, educational web site created to promote
bioscience literacy by examining issues" such as biodiversity, genomics, biotechnology,
and evolution. Includes peer-reviewed articles, papers from outside sources, lesson plans
correlated to the U.S. National Science Education Standards (NSES), and related links.

the advertisements!)

This site from the University of Arizona provides problem sets and tutorials for students
studying biology. The site also provides additional web resources by topic.
Glossary of Biology
From the University of California, Berkeley, this glossary is browsable by topic:
biochemistry, cell biology, etc.
Public Library of Science:
Biology
"The Public Library of Science (PLoS) is a non-profit organization of scientists and physicians
committed to making the world's scientific and medical literature a freely available public
resource." Read current articles from the PLoS journals. Articles are interesting and detailed,
but not overly complex and wordy. This is a great organization.
Wikipedia: Biology
This free, web-based encyclopedia is a great source for background information on biology
topics. Information is available in over 30 languages, and the site provides additional
web and print resources.
