Written from the patient perspective, this site from RadiologyInfo provides an overview of ultrasound technology and what to expect when you have an ultrasound. There is also mention of the limitations of ultrasound technology and risks that have been associated with ultrasound.

Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
"The Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography was founded in 1970 to promote, advance, and educate its members and the medical community in the science of Diagnostic Medical Sonography." The site states that its core purpose is "to enhance the art and science of medicine by advancing medical sonography."
