Web Sites
Google--search engine and web directory
Librarians' Index to the Internet--directory of websites divided into general categories (business, health, music, etc.). Gives link and description of each site.
Electronic Business News
Electronic Design, Technology & News Network site with search tools that will aid in searching.
- A basic search is possible and appropriate in the first text box in the upper left corner.
- <e-library> (further down the left-hand menu) is for white papers, case studies and research information on relevant topics.
This site is owned by the Electronic Engineering Times. The same journal articles can be found on the EDTN web site but this home page will allow you to search directly in EET. Be sure to look under <Product Week> (in the left hand menu) under <Focus on>. Some surprisingly good material may be found here.
International Business Machines home page has a <search> box at the top right hand side of the main screen. Entering in a relevant search keyword AND an additional keyword to narrow the search will produce some insightful journal articles, papers, and product descriptions. Once the initial search has been performed, an <advance search> option appears.

Trends illustrating Moore's Law.
On Intel's home page, a 'tool bar' is offered at the top where the researcher can click on <search>. At the <search> page, drop down menu choices are obvious but be sure to read the advance search tips. I couldn't find the <Advance search> box. Also, in the drop down menu that says 'All Intel sites' (which is the <category> menu), arrow down a few choices until you see <Developers>. That's where you want to be searching; otherwise you will only get Intel products.
This is Lucent's search page. I couldn't find much information outside their own product promotions. Maybe you will have better luck. The <search> page is easy enough to use but the keyword searches just were not successful. But what you will find on the search page in the top right corner is a link to <Glossary>. There are some obscure acronyms and computer terms that might come in handy.
http://www.rambus.com/products/rdram/
Pitches the concept of protecting your PC's future with dram. Look under <documentation> for some excellent white papers! Nifty macromedia.
Virtual Physics Sites:
http://didaktik.physik.uni-wuerzburg.de/~pkrahmer/ntnujava/indexPopup.html
A virtual physics laboratory. Worth typing in the long URL. Illustrates mechanics, dynamics, thermodynamics, light/optics, electromagnetism, waves, etc.
Virtual Museum of Computing
The homepage of the Imaging Technology Group (ITG). This site provides state-of-the-art imaging facilities for researchers at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology and University of Illinois.
http://www.cypress.com/design/products/index.html
Cypress Semiconductor Corporation site—design resource page. Great links to explanations and diagrams of various hardware. Look under <application notes>.
http://www.ecn.purdue.edu/WBG/Device_Research/Index.html
Purdue's device research page. Scroll down to find 'charge coupled device'.
