Black
Student Union
The Black Student Union has a 26-year history on the BCC Campus, by far
the longest of any student club. The organization has established itself
year after year as a valuable institution enriching student life on campus.
To promote Black awareness, political consciousness, and both educational
and cultural enhancement. Also, to provide support to students in their
aim towards academic success and to facilitate unity within our Multiculturalsociety. Activities include meetings, potlucks, tutor sessions, talent
show, cultural fashion show, Martin Luther King Jr. Assembly, Black History
Month, and other fundraisers. Meeting Time/Day/Place 12:30-1:30 p.m. on

Latino Pride De Mecha
Promote the Latino culture through positive actions on campus and within
the community as well as increase the attendance of the Latino Student

Vietmanese
Student Association (not yet rechartered in 2006)
The Vietmanese Student Association (VSC) of Bellevue Community College
exists to promote the understanding of different Asian cultures throughout
the college as well as to provide opportunities for Asian/Pacific students
and other interested students to participate in social outings. The APSA's
mission is "To recognize and to understand that "we are different in some
ways...but alike in many." Through pride, leadership, and determination,
the Asian/Pacific Student Association, strives to provide the students
of Bellevue Community College and its campus with a better understanding
of different Asian cultures throughout the college and the community.

Nations Student Association
The Native American Student Union exits on the Bellevue Community College
Campus to provide support and promote understanding of Native American
culture throughout the college as well as provide opportunities for students

Future 500 Business Club

The Fortune 500 Club focuses on businesses and on implementing skills acquired in the classroom. They facilitate community development, communications, networking and marketing. Also, they develop leadership skills and fundamentals that are a key to successful business. Their planned activities include group seminars,visiting businesses to experience the work environment, and fund raising events to attend business conferences, centers of business, Chambers of Commerce, as well as New York. Past events include a Real Estate Semniar, visiting Merit Financial Services, sponsoring several scholarships. Current offficers include: President Ronnie Fontenot, Vice President Melantha Jenkins,Treasurer Yosan Berhane and Secretary, Ilays Aden.

Each year the Community College MulticulturalServices Director's Council
sponsors a Student Leadership Conference. MulticulturalServices provides
opportunities for Students to attend.
Institute
for Community Leadership
The Institute for Community Leadership works to empower individuals and
organizations to create a vision of a more just nation and world and to
develop and sustain within themselves the strength, hope, leadership,
relationships, and organizational integrity to bring about that vision.
We work with schools, community organizations, and governmental programs,
providing a variety of workshops and seminars to meet this goal.
