Photo of curvature of retaining wall next the R buildingThe Public Safety Department provides 24/7 protection and services to the campus community. The staff is comprised of five full time officers including the Director, Assistant Director, Program Assistant and four part-time officers.

The department works closely with the Bellevue Police and Fire Departments and other local emergency service agencies.  The Department of Public Safety acts as the first responder for all criminal incidents, provides general patrol of campus facilities and property, investigates collisions and manages both traffic safety and parking management for the college, coordinates emergency preparedness planning and provides crime prevention programming.  The department responds to all reports of fire and/or medical aid working in support of the Bellevue Fire Department.

Office Hours

Monday – Friday
7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Exceptions:

  1. Expanded hours during the first two weeks of the quarter—office open 7:00 a.m.- 7:00 p.m. during this time.
  2. Hours during academic quarter breaks are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Note: If you need to contact the Department of Public Safety after 5:00 p.m. and on weekends, a direct line to an officer can be dialed from a gray telephone box (outside of Building K). You just lift the handset and it will automatically connect you with an officer in the field.
